MONTHLY FOCUS: CHURCH: Being Missionary Disciples
To understand the whole concept of Being Missionary Disciple, what would be the true essence of what it means to live out a spiritual calling?
It is moving from a Faith of Head Knowledge (what was taught in Sunday school) to a Faith of Heart and Action (becoming independent, missionary disciples who make a tangible difference).
1Active vs. Passive Faith
Our faith is an ongoing process. It is a journey of discovery of who God really is. The formation of our faith requires a grounding belief in which we have to learn and from there, our goal is outward, becoming “Missionary disciples” that impacts the world and our community.
2Power of the “Now”
The future remains a mystery but for the “now”, we are grounded in what we believe in. Spiritual transformation and discipleship for Christ does not happen tomorrow but they happen in the choices we make today.
3Internal Realignment
When our core belief is solid, everything will fall in place because of what we belief in. The chaos of life will make sense through that lens of faith that we have from the time we knew who God really is. But knowing God is always a continuing process. It never ends.
All of us are called to live our Faith authentically so that we are always of good courage, do not build lives that has no meaning but pursuing what the Holy Spirit wants us to pursue. We choose to live according to what God reveals to us, rather than trust our own understanding. ✜
